Connect dopost to ChatGPT and Other AI Assistants

Connect your AI assistant to dopost to manage social accounts, publish and schedule content, find media and review analytics from a conversation.

dopost uses MCP, a standard that lets compatible AI assistants work with connected applications.

Before you start

  • You need a dopost plan with API & MCP access, such as Pro or Agency.

  • Your AI client must support remote MCP connections.

  • Custom apps or connectors must be available for your AI account. Availability depends on the client, subscription and organization settings.

Connect ChatGPT or Claude

  1. Open your AI assistant’s settings.

  2. Find the option to add a custom app, connector or remote MCP server.

  3. Enter dopost as the name.

  4. Enter this server URL:

  1. Complete the dopost sign-in window.

  2. Review and approve the requested permissions.

  3. Return to your assistant and enable dopost for the conversation if required.

The exact settings labels vary between AI clients. See the MCP setup guide for client-specific instructions.

The hosted connection requires no local installation.

Connect another AI client

dopost also supports compatible clients such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code and VS Code.

Use the same hosted server URL and follow the instructions for your client in the MCP setup guide.

Check the connection

Ask your assistant:

List my connected social accounts in dopost.

If you manage several workspaces, ask:

List my dopost workspaces and the social accounts in each one.

Confirm the workspace and account before asking the assistant to publish.

What you can do

Examples of requests include:

Show my scheduled posts for this week.

Schedule a LinkedIn post for Friday at 10:00 in my workspace timezone.

Use an image from my dopost Media Gallery to prepare an Instagram post.

Create an X thread with an opening post and three follow-up posts.

Create a recurring weekly post.

Show my best-performing publications from the last month.

Available actions depend on the permissions granted, your plan and the selected social platform.

Use media from your gallery

Upload files to dopost’s Media Gallery, then ask your assistant to find and use them.

The hosted MCP connection cannot read a file directly from a path on your computer. Attaching a file to an AI conversation does not automatically upload it to dopost.

Manage workspace access

An OAuth connection can access the workspaces available to your dopost user, subject to your permissions and plan.

To manage access:

  1. Open Settings → MCP connections in dopost.

  2. Find the connected AI client.

  3. Open its workspace access controls.

  4. Disable or restore access to individual workspaces as needed.

You can also disconnect the client completely from this page.

Confirm that a post was published

An accepted publishing request may initially show Processing while dopost sends the content to the social platform.

Ask your assistant to check the final post status, or review it in dopost.

If the assistant loses the response, check recent posts before requesting publication again. The original request may already have been accepted.

Having trouble?

  • The custom connector option is missing: check your AI subscription and organization settings.

  • No accounts appear: check workspace access and your social connections in dopost.

  • Tools or publishing options are missing: refresh the tools or reconnect the client.

  • Analytics tools are missing: reconnect and approve the analytics permission when requested.

  • An action is rejected: check the granted permissions, plan limits and platform requirements.
